The Pentagon confirmed the USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group departed San Diego and is heading to the US Central Command region, where it is expected to join two other carriers already positioned near Iran, alongside amphibious ships carrying roughly 9,000 to 10,000 additional Marines and sailors.
