A Phase III trial published in JAMA Pediatrics and led by University of Michigan researchers enrolled 830 children under age 6 recruited through dental offices, pediatric practices, and Head Start programs in Michigan, New York, and Iowa. Tesla signs deal for 1 TWh a year of new Arizona solar-plus-storage power
Tesla Energy has entered a long-term power purchase agreement with KKR-backed developer ContourGlobal for 90% of the output of Project Sterling, a 509-megawatt solar facility paired with 360 megawatts (1.4 gigawatt-hours) of battery storage under construction in Arizona. The bundled electricity-and-renewable-energy-credit deal will deliver roughly 1 terawatt-hour of clean power annually once the plant reaches commercial operation in 2028, with the facility holding firm transmission rights to reach California's grid as well as Arizona's. It is one of two major new solar-plus-storage agreements Tesla signed this week, alongside a Texas solar deal, adding nearly 650 megawatts of newly contracted renewable capacity.

Malaria vaccines are saving children's lives across Africa, but officials push to finish the full course
More than 52 million doses of malaria vaccine have now reached children in 25 high-risk African countries with support from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, with nine of the ten highest-burden malaria countries now rolling the shots out widely. New data show the RTS,S and R21 vaccines cut clinical malaria cases by more than half in the first year after three doses, and researchers estimate the rollout averted roughly one in eight child deaths among eligible children in Ghana, Kenya, and Malawi over four years. Health officials say the next challenge is completing the full four-dose series: first-dose coverage runs around 80% but falls to about 46% for the final booster, so more financing is being sought to keep families returning for every dose.
