Novartis pill shows strong results against multiple sclerosis relapses in late-stage trials

Novartis announced positive topline results on September 1, 2026, from its Phase III REMODEL-1 and REMODEL-2 trials of remibrutinib, an oral BTK inhibitor, in relapsing multiple sclerosis. Scientists discover vesper bats carry a never-before-seen dual immune system

Researchers from Tulane University, Stanford University and the CDC reported in early September 2026 that more than 500 species of vesper bats, the largest bat family on Earth, possess two entirely separate sets of antibody genes — an arrangement never before documented in any mammal. In the big brown bat, one gene set carries 33 antibody genes that mutate heavily to bind tightly to a single viral target, while the second holds 99 genes that stay less mutated so they can loosely recognize a much wider range of threats.
